Here is one pattern sequence of methods and tools for neighborhood development. Feel free to make your own pattern sequences, including creating new patterns or altering prior patterns and inserting them where useful.
Each pattern prepares for the next pattern.
**Campfire Conversations** stands for a type of humane conversation among a few people who live near one another and want to hear from one another.
**Six Nested Questions** are a universal method for exploring the nesting contexts of any group and a point in time. It's main value is exposing leverage points of all types and strengths.
**Cave Drawings** are shared, public, visual diagrams and models that are very relevant for and understandable by the wellbeing of the community.
> I believe that every community development center would greatly benefit from posting and regularly discussing the bottom five types of cave drawings.
**CLDs** allows people to explore complex systems and get on the same page, with the same language, and with a shared understanding--so joint decisions are as informed as possible.
**SOFI-VSM Sketch** assessment allows you to identify risk to viability.
**EIP Sketch** can help understand the critical ecosystem your institution exists in for the near and far, short term and long term. When concerned with the big picture: ecology, politics and institutional interactions use this sketch pad AND then continue to explore the CLD (community loop drawing) that results.
**PIOA** helps you harness the strongest source of power in social systems--shared ideals.
**BGTE** (Beauty Good Truth Economy) is to ensure that your institution is a balanced social system.
