Whole In Each Part

The key goal here is to understand Multi-scale Citizenships and the System of Conversations required for the success of "participating multi-scale Wholes" (individuals in groups). Social fractals.

This is what Follett is helping us understand. Her hope was that we, who follow after, would discover and develop group methods. She believed this was a practical project that necessarily must have its beginning in our neighborhood associations. She imagined a fractal democracy would (might) unfold.

She used the term "group" to mean such associations where the whole is in each part, the same whole but from multiple perspectives. "True democracy" only happens in such groups. Quakers have methods integrating wholes with individuals and generating such wholes from such individuals.

**In such groups, conflict is not managed; rather, diversity is integrated.** Each part sees the whole that includes the diverse others and proceeds from there. No short cuts. No quick fixes.

Since each part of a whole group has only a partial model of that whole (unlike holographic images) the actual whole is embodied or realized only through the interactions and inter-workings of the group model using individual members of the group. We are interested in Model Carrying Group Members, not members in name only.

Our individual models of the world are created in model forming interactions within many groups. So group participations make our model of self/world, and we make groups with our models of group/self/world.

I begin to suspect that Robert Rosen and a number of other folks with deep facility in mathematics already understand this Individual POV Model of Group and Group individual POV model creating. This creative recursion is not nested, rather it is an autopoetic self creating thing: LIFE.
