The talkers and thinkers and planners and doers must be the same people. Plan your syntegration groups with action as the goal.
Through persistent syntegrating (by any or by no name) communities will sooner become groups, in Follett's meaning of group. Groups where each individual is **"the whole at one point."**
Syntegration may become THE standard way for ongoing "group" forming, as Follett explains group vs crowd vs particularist.
Syntegration is a designed and orchestrated set of conversations that integrate the perspectives and knowledge of thirty people in the context of a major theme and twelve subtopics.
# Time Matters Forgetting occurs. Integration occurs. Not all forgetting is counterproductive. I think that syntegrations for businesses should be very different than syntegrations for neighborhoods. **Businesses necessarily are making the whole system worse because they are optimizing a part.** Neighborhoods or "tribes" have the possibility of understanding the whole. E.g. Native Americans and Fijians.
Neighborhood Wellbeing provisionally is my favored major theme.
In some settings Viable System Models have been developed to make sense of the syntegration conversations. We are currently developing a prototype of a Persistent Neighborhood Viable System Model.
Vester's Sensitivity Model has also been used with syntegrations. My goal is to take the powerful tools that historically have been used episodically by consultants and integrate them in to the daily life of neighborhoods. In effect I hope to create the tools and methods for a Persistent Neighborhood Sensitivity Model.
Each of these persistent models then become part and parcel of a "Control Room" as Beer began developing in Santiago, Chile--but scaled for neighborhood learning, adaptation, and governance.
The Metaphorum group is planning an on-line, virtual, syntegration. The learning from this work will inform a neighborhood adaptation.
I will be looking for ways that the future FedWiki can play a role in neighborhood syntegrating. The computational capability of the FedWiki, particularly when combined with Eldorado, is astounding.
With the computational capability built into FedWiki we can develop Near Real Time Measurement tools for neighborhoods.
Create a Slow Syntegration Pattern that is easily adapted for any size group at any pace of conversation. Prototype an implement with FedWiki and TheBrain. See Slow Syntegration.
I envision a group of neighborhoods equipped with FedWiki enabling Persistent Slow Syntegrations organized so that they can inform each other.
