Ladder of Inference: How we think... Actions: Take action based on our beliefs. Beliefs: Develop beliefs based on our conclusions. Conclusions: Draw conclusions based on our assumptions. Assumptions: Make assumptions based on that meaning. Meanings: Lend meaning to a selection of data we observed. Instead of jumping to "CONCLUSIONS," analyze and test the assumptions, meaning, selected data & observations that created them. How is it that CLDs sidestep conflice? How do variables differ from statements of fact? The variable introduces, repeatedly, openness to "other" causes and to the variable can go in different directions. THIS needs to be laid out better.
