> Greetings Kerry, > I just wanted to take a moment to share my experience with a very amateur but effective use of the causal loop diagram that Christo gave me an overview of a few months back. > For context, I was struggling getting a house built (happily) with my girlfriend and also meeting the demands (gracefully) of caring for my downs syndrome brother, a responsibility I share with my mom.

> So after Christo showed me the diagraming, I thought, ‘wow, this could be so effective to literally get on the same page and also take the contention out of the direct back and forth that has been going so poorly.’

> Almost immediately upon drawing the simple loop with my Mom the dynamic changed and the focus became Ned instead of us. That alone was so refreshing. Then, in about 5 minutes we had listed the 7 or so things that support Ned’s wellbeing and oppose it and found the one that we could really push on to get better results, (it was opening up the care circle to other family members and close friends) and we did. And today Ned is off medication for the first time in 10 years and thriving. So thank you!!

> I next took the loop to the love of my life, who I was struggling with on this house build, and once again in a short time we had listed the factors and noticed, while many were relatively fixed, there was one that we could definitely lean on. And we did. And the house got built in short order and we love it. Strangely enough, i cant remember what the factor was!

> Regardless, it was a very successful foray into the use of a simple but powerful tool and I greatly appreciate having been shown it. I think the fact that it takes shape as an image is so helpful. You can look at it together and its just like, bang! thats the one. Lets get to work there.
