Events are linked by purposes or by outcomes (accidents). Such linkages of events can be referred to as episodes.
Stories are a familiar type of episode.
I am not sure when we would refer to a sequence as an episode vs. as process. Processes have a definiteness that is not implied by episode.
Should there be some mystery to episodes?
Kerry asks whether an episode must result in a change of state of a system.
Kerry also says that parameters that specify a Variable always result in a change of state.
Kerry says that all stories start with a state change in a variable, an impetus that ripples through a system.
