Alexander’s Development Pattern and Beer’s Viability Pattern are both nested recursions. Both require that attention be paid to three adjacent levels simultaneously and continuously.
They are in effect both pattern language.
Beer’s is the universal pattern language of viable organization. Alexander’s is the universal pattern language Brain 
of beautiful development.
Alexander’s team currently believes that for these pattern languages to enter common usage, usable sequences or recipes are needed, and from there people may use, create, adapt and extend the patterns.
